My second day at the live show warehouse was pretty interesting and a lot of fun. We had to go down to Mentor Graphics in Wilsonville and set up a conference room for them which included a 7ft projection screen and audio equipment. I met Martin today who is the live event equipment manager. He is really nice and also went to MHCC for the Integrated Media program. So we started with Martin, Gary, Ben and I loading up the equipment into the truck to take down to Mentor Graphics. Gary, Ben and I road down in the grip truck, but on the way down the trucks alternator went out, right in front of the exit we were suppose to take. So we had to call Jo and Martin and they got another truck and more helpers to bring down and transfer all the equipment from one truck to the other on the side of the freeway, it was pretty exciting. We got it all transferred in under 10 minutes, which is impressive considering the lowering ramp on our grip truck didn't work because of the alternator being out. Fortunately we had left early anyway and we were only about 5 minutes late for our set up time. Mentor Graphics are a regular customer and were very cool about it all. So for what I actually did for set up was pretty much setting up the projection screen with Gary, Ben and Greg (maybe Craig i've only met him that one time) who from what I gathered is a freelance worker like Gary. We then helped move and set up speakers and taped all the wires going across the ground to make sure it all looked clean and presentable. They called this a small build and it took a little over 2 hours which is good timing for it all, but I can only imagine what a big build will look like, well actually they told me and showed me what it looks like so i don't need to imagine it. Im excited for when I do get to work on a big one. After the the job was done Gary, Ben and I drove up and waited in traffic for awhile and then unloaded everything back into the warehouse and after that they sent me home. It was a fun second day in the live show department and i'm excited to see them all again in a couple weeks!
